GALERIA NÓMADA artists in residence at Gängeviertel, Hamburg.

Galeria Nómada is an international art collective, formed by independent artists and creatives of different disciplines in Lisbon, Portugal, in midle 2010.

Since that time they have been doing several collective projects, either in exhibition or residence formats.

In 2011 they ran a collective project in Oporto called Casa Amarela, a self managed art residence experimental project that from May to December transformed an empty old building in historical city center into open art studios, producing exhibitions, street events, concerts, experimenting an open to public daily basis.

For the moment the collective has no fixed space but there are some on going projects that are being developed in Portugal to take place in a near future.

In this art residence at Gängeviertel, 5 artists from the collective: Kersti Vallikivi (Est), Paulo Ramos (Pt), Pedro Cunha (Pt), Sofia Xavier (Pt) and Rita Graça (Pt) had the opportunity since the beginning of September to get to know and get engaged in this collective project, having also the possibility to work in the silkscreen studio, developing their works using as common base the silk print tecnick to explore and experiment in their different visual and conceptual languages.

The results of the residence will be presented to public at LOGE in an work in progress format, that will start on Sunday 16 and will go until Saturday 29th of September.

During this period the space will be open to public daily during the afternoons (around 3pm to 7pm) and there will be special presentations on:

Saturday 22 and Saturday 29 , from 7pm on.

Beside the presentation of the silk print works that will be exhibited as they are being produced and will be available to purshase in a donation basis, the gallery space will be also reshaped, taking the form of a total installation that will be build and rebuilt along the period of the exhibition, exploring diferent exhibition formats for the works and creating different interactive moments in space and time, where the public is invited to come in and take part, in a direct conection with the artists.
